ROOTS Competition

The ideas competition was open only to the 56 designers who applied for the ROOTS project. They were set the task to design a SCHUNCK* Pavilion. The studios had a period of 6 weeks to work out their design concepts and submit them. The pavilion should be a flexible space that can travel and be located at important events like Biennales, exhibitions and festivals all over the world. SCHUNCK* pavilion is intended to be portable and temporary and should ideally be an exhibition space that can be used both outdoors and indoors.

On 18 August 2010 an independent international jury of experts selected the best concept out of the 14 submitted designs. At the opening of the exhibition on 11 September 17.00 hrs, the result of the competition was announced and the prize money of € 5,000 awarded to StudioGruber from Vienna.
